MSN-04 Sazabi ( Stutzer ) by Titanium

Ello guys, I have here another masterpiece by a fellow modeler who has just launch his own website. Derrick Poh aka Titanium of Plamo is part of the Bakuc Finals 2008 batch. I met Derrick there when he represented Singapore and eventually won 2nd place in the Open Professional category with his Perfect Zeong entry.



Derrick Poh / Titanium loves modifications but his clean and flawless finishing always highlights his effective and beautiful mods.His most recent build the Sazabi Stutzer won as 2nd place in the recently concluded Singapore midyear Gundam Challenge.



Titanium loves working on hangar dioramas and his creativity in lay outing dioramas is masterful. I partcularly like how he made a simple open air diorama look so busy and interesting. He also did a wonderful job on the figures.



I am truly blessed to have met great modelers at Bakuc finals 2008 and to have great modeler friends at ZeroGunz and other good forums... I will never be short of masterpieces to feature in my blog. hihihi. Anyways here are a few pics I took from Titanium's website...

PG MKII commission - WIP - Armor Cutting

Ello guys I managed to cut the thick armors of the PG MKII yesterday and today. Kinda slow coz the armors are really thick and I am not really comfortable with this kind of mod. I first scribed some panel lines on the part to be cut and then saw it with my Hasegawa saw... I then cleaned it up with a file and an art knife.



I will then have to add a few pla plating to maintain consistency with the torso mods and I might scribe a few panel lines and some MSG option parts also. I friggin' ran out of Tamiya thin cement thus I could no longer detail this kit today. Well, at least I am back to working on this kit again.



This kit will not have much detailing coz the client wants it in Titans color, thus I am afraid the dark color scheme will just hide the pla plating if I add too much. Anyways, here are some pics of the armor cutting...

M.A.C. shirt designs and prize for the M.A.C. online competition!

Ello guys, I met up with a handful of guys in Kisapmata ( Jose Sabale ), Fil Dimaano and MatX last Saturday and we talked about Gunpla of course. hihi... The main purpose of the meeting is to talk about the MAC competition,  MAC shirts and other MAC stuffs. Ghani Madueno, the Sampayo brothers and Angelo Guibone ( MDgelo ) were unable to come.



We have a slight problem with the printing of the MAC shirts, Fil needs to find a cheaper supplier to cut the cost and I asked him if he could remove the DC23 on the design already. I am still waiting for Fil's next batch of superb designs... and we hope we could find a cheaper alternative to printing a handful of shirts ( maybe around 20 ).



On the other hand, MatX gave me a Trumpeter tool as his donation to the MAC online competition... again, the prizes are a Robot Damashi figure, a Tamiya tool, 3 pieces of MSG option parts and a limited Bandai item. Plus of course the Trrumpeter tool from MatX.



It was a very nice meet up... looking forward to meeting these guys again before Bakuc and hopefully we pull off the competition and shirts among others. ;)

6 more added to my fellow MECH artists page!

Six really good Gunpla artists added to my fellow MECH artists page today and yesterday...

Angelo Guibone is a very good Filipino modeler who made a splash in the Gunpla scene last year at Bakuc 2009. He is the Philippine Bakuc champion 2009. His site houses extremely modified and creative masterpieces and his gallery is steadily growing by the month. I hate this guy! ;D

Titanium is active in Plamo, he is based in Singapore and I met this guy alongside Matt Tomczek and Ray Loke back in HongKong 2008 in the Bakuc finals. His style is clean but with extreme modifications, he is fond of creating very nice hangar dioramas and he made his mark in the Gunpla community when he represented Singapore and won 2nd place in 2008 Bakuc finals.

Sam Mustafa aka sammy514 is a fellow moderator at ZeroGunz, we were actually promoted at the same time. This guy from Malaysia is a ton better painter though and his knack for beautiful color schemes and subtle but effective modifications is simply unmatched. A true artist by profession, talent and skills.





Julius Lim or ver. juju is the master of masters! He made his mark at Bakuc Malaysia a couple of years ago with his scratch built Sinanju and made a bigger and permanent mark last year ( 2009 ) with a full scratch built damaged 1/100 Dendrodium diorama. Needless to say, but the scratch building skills of this guy is humanly impossible.





Howard Khor is one of ZeroGunz's gem! This guy made a splash last year ( 2009 ) at Malaysia's midyear competition with his Psycho Gundam rendition... He followed this up with a very creative rendition of a Gouf last Bakuc 2009. His works are both creative and unique and are simply masterpieces of art.





Izham Ryukaze is the chief! He formed ZeroGunz.com and thus the main reason for gathering all of us in one healthy place! Izham Ryukaze aka Ryukaze is one of the four admins of ZeroGunz and he is fond of painting Transformer toys. He has a good number of beautiful renditions of TF action figures and Gunpla.

1/100 NZ-666 Kshatriya by aor_or_die

Aor is a really good modeler from Italy and one of his earlier masterpiece was featured here in my blog already. His z-gustav-scratch built is still my personal favorite amongst his superb works! The work put into the build and the topnotch weathered finishing.



Anyways, I present to you aor_or_die's most recent masterpiece, The 1/100 Kshatriya! This is basically a  resin kit but aor added more details to this kit to suit his personal preference. The weathering is topnotch as always as he shows his mastery of weathering mediums on this build. the weathering is just enough for a space MS in my opinion as it is subtle but convincingly realistic!

MG Sazabi WIP - Saz's new haircut

Ello guys, I managed to squeeze a couple of hours today after our " family day " earlier. I decided to give the Sazabi a new haircut  and a bit of initial detailing and also detailed the crotch area with a few MSG option parts and some usual pla plating.



I thought that giving the Saz a haircut and trimming off its original fin will give it a different look and also give the illusion that the body, boob part, crotch part and front skirts look bigger than they actually are. Same concept basically as the O having a small head relative to it's body.



I also added a couple of 5mm rods on the lower part of the crotch to flare up the front skirts. I detailed both the head and crotch with MSG option parts, a few pla plates and a few wires to give it the steam punk look I am after. A few more pla plating will be added on the head and the crotch to deem it as finished.

Without the crotch or even with the crotch ( before adding the 5mm rods )... the front skirts are drooping downwards like a pair of balls...

Now with the 5mm rods, the front skirts are flared up and it gave the kit a bigger and meaner overall look. ;D

ZeroGunz Core Fighter Group Build

Ello guys, There is an ongoing Group Build ( GB ) at ZeroGunz and it is called " Core Fighter Group Build ". The concept is simple, give this neglected kit some lovin'! The core fighter is always unpainted or hidden inside the Gundams, so this time ZeroGunz gave this kit some much needed highlight!



A couple of good modeler friends has finished there GB entries, namely Ronnie Phoon and Jeff Ho. Jeff Ho Yick Yin aka Jeffho at ZeroGunz has been featured here once with his PG masterpiece. Now I present to you Jeffho's " Legend of EFSF "...

new M.A.C. logo

Ello guys, Just a quick post tonight... I redesigned a new MAC or Mech Arts Community logo. The Community is really flourishing right now. Thanks to all the members who have joined! We now have 354 members and counting.

Of course all this is NOT possible without the support and contributions of most of its active members ( you know who you are, hihi ). Anyways, I redesigned the logo to focus on the initials of the group which is M.A.C.... hopefully this redesign will bolster the shorter name M.A.C. as we fondly call it right now, instead of calling it in its real long name Mech Arts Community.

I joined alltoysites.com a month or a few weeks ago and my blog has stayed as number 1 amongst all the members of the ranking site worldwide! yes, worlwide! hihi... Much like topblogs.com it is a site that ranks the popularity of its members. Topblog ranks Filipino sites only though.



However, this is not really true... all toy sites ONLY ranks its members, and it only has 40 TOY sites as members. Wait til' Ngee kiong, Toymaker or the Toy Room joins the site. hehe.
