We recently had a customer let us in on the special project that is True Portland: the unofficial guide for creative people.
Created and maintained by a group of Japanese friends, the book serves as a guide to everything creative in Portland. From sustainable restaurants & farmer's markets, to local coffee places, creative spaces, micro-breweries and small publishing houses. Its beautifully designed, filled with amazing photographs and is available for purchase through their site!

They also run a Facebook page under the same name. We were lucky enough to appear as a place of interest and one of our calligraphy classes was reviewed on their Facebook page! We're happy to be included and want to share our next calligraphy workshop coming up:
Uncial and Lombardic Calligraphy Workshop
Sunday, May 18th from 10am-5pm
$45, all supplies included
*Alberta location*
This workshop focuses on two styles of calligraphy
which were often used together in early book
transcription: Uncial: a common calligraphy of the
fifth century and Lombardic: which is still used
in monogramming today. Students will leave
with the beginning designs for a final project.
